:: Dear Me ::

Yes, I know, it has been rather a long time. Currently I'm in New York with Lava Lamp, tripping the light fantastic and splurging inappropriately. After the obligatory tourist hell yesterday, we did at least manage a bit of culture this afternoon.

Sadly, L Russe Bezuhoff has been called back to London(!) for his grandmother's funeral, so we've done a bit of a swap. Nevertheless, we should get to see him before we too head back over the pond next week.

It's all rather reminiscent of when I set up this blog over 2 years ago. One of my first ever posts reproduced some magnetic poetry from Bezuhoff's old apartment up in Morningside Heights.

Now as then, I'll leave you with the unkeepable promise of more regular updates. Perhaps a modest synopsis of the past week's events will follow in due course...

:: Any Fule Kno ::

Bit of a posting drought as, like Dr Rufus, I'm grappling with a time-consuming new job. Never mind, here are a few vignettes:

  • Linux looks to Hilton for exposure - one of my favourite from this year's crop of April foolery. Snopes and Wikipedia have also come up with long lists of reported hoaxes.

  • Not fooled? The Beeb also produced a list of apparent hoaxes that turned out to be true. Ananova's story about a phallic monument also fits into this category as I first read it on 31st March...

  • Madonna, that embodiment of the word "joke", is apparently now unable to understand a word her kids are saying. It's not the first time she's been afflicted with bad translations, but maybe it will encourage Guy to set one of his sub-standard gangster flicks in the Parisian banlieues. I venture to suggest he wouldn't come anywhere close to the La HaĆ®ne.

Um... I guess that's it. Short and sharp like this afternoon's hailstorm. I'm off to meet Tigger for our monthly outing:

YAY!
